2018年8月29日是福州西湖国际学校的大日子——这是FLIS的注册日，至此2018-2019学年正式开启啦~
Wednesday, August 29th, was a big day for Fuzhou Lakeside International School. On this day, we held the opening ceremony of the 2018/19 school year. So yes! The new school year starts now!
沉寂一夏的校园，因熙熙攘攘的人群而再度焕发生机：许久不见的孩子们热络地在操场上聊了起来，想必大家都攒了一肚子暑假趣事要对同学讲述；新生们好奇地打量着精心布置的校园，或许脑内已描绘出了未来在此学习的情景……很开心见到返校的学生，也热烈欢迎今年加入FLIS大家庭的新面孔~
The hustle and bustle of the new and returning students and their parents immediately revitalized our long silent campus. Children chatted cheerfully about their summer vacation, with lots of funny stories to tell, and new students, who recently joined our FLIS family, curiously explored the campus with thoughts of what life will be like here at FLIS! We were happy to reunite with old students and show our warmest welcome to all those new faces!
开学典礼上，学部校长Jeanne女士率先发表了演讲，宣布新学年正式开启。她对在座来宾致以衷心的欢迎，也表达了对家长们多年支持的感谢。之后，助理校长Ashim女士、幼儿园中方园长Lui女士、小学部中方主任Renee女士、中学部中方主任Stream女士及中文部主任Mia女士依次登场，介绍今年学部强大、专业的国际教学团队。
As Academic Principal, Ms. Jeanne first came to the stage to give a speech, during which she welcomed all the guests and expressed gratitude for parents’ continued support. Later, one by one, our Deputy Principal Ms. Ashim, ECE Director Ms. Lui, Primary Director Ms. Renee, Secondary Director Ms. Stream and Mandarin Director Ms. Mia all came to the stage to introduce our high-qualified teaching team.
在此次典礼上，芝加哥艺术学院出身的Gerald老师也上台发言，宣布今年FLIS将开设第二课堂（即CAASEL中心）的好消息！
As a special speaker, Mr. Gerald delivered a speech, in which he pointed out that FLIS had set up a new campus for the 2018-2019 school year, called the CAASEL Center.
CAASEL项目的一个目标，是帮助学生培养能够去联系、去与他们的内心所思所想紧密沟通的能力。
According to Mr. Gerald, “A goal of the CAASEL program is to help students develop the ability to become comfortable working with the internal screen in their mind.”
CAASEL中心会给大家怎样的惊喜？我们将在近期逐步揭晓，敬请期待。
What surprise will the CAASEL Center bring us? We eagerly await the opening of the new CAASEL Center!
最后上台的管理部总监Kata女士介绍了管理部的各位骨干，也对为促成今日典礼而辛勤工作的所有员工表示了由衷的感谢！
Our last speaker, Administrative Director Ms. Kata introduced our administrative staff. Thanks to all the staff who worked extra-long hours and days to prepare today's ceremony!
