Hi everyone, my name is Angela 姚李悦琦. 

I am currently teaching Individuals and Societies for the IB MYP program. I have acquired my Bachelor’s degree at the University of Toronto as an East Asian Studies specialist. I studied Public Administration at the School of Government of Peking University for my Master’s degree. I am very interested in exploring the cultural relics of China, and how details about artifacts can relate to the development of state. I am also interested in investigating the connections between the (re)surfacing of mainstream ideologies and perhaps the on-going technological development-influenced societal changes—ex. The interrelationship between Nationalism and Social Media development. I was born in China however raised in Canada. Therefore, I hope with my multi-cultural background from the West and East, I can facilitate an environment where it is easier for students to form their perspective of reasons for contemporary world phenomenon. This critical analysis skill can further them on in the future. 

大家好，我是Angela姚李悦琦，很高兴能成为西湖国际教师团队的一员。我的本科毕业于多伦多大学东亚研究专业，硕士研究生毕业于北京大学政府管理学院公共管理学。我的兴趣之一是探索中国文物以及文物细节与国家发展之间的关系。我也很喜欢关联科技发展影响的现代社会现象与各种主流意识形态的变化—例如：民族主义再次崛起与社交媒体发展的关系。我出生于中国，但是在加拿大长大。因此，我希望以我的中西多元文化背景，能为学生提供一个更容易以自我分析的观点来形成对当代世界现象的看法的学习环境。希望这种批判性分析能力可以让他们在未来的学习和生活中更上一层楼。
