八月中旬，福州西湖国际学校高中&学院部的2023-2024学年已率先于将乐天籁蛟湖国际研学基地拉开序幕。除原有的GED证书课程、GAC课程及高中学分课程之外，FLIS与美国公立名校亚利桑那州立大学（Arizona State University, 简称ASU）合作并引进了ASU大学学分课程，新学年，该课程将为学子未来本科学习奠定坚实基础，也为升学提供更完善的准备。高中&学院部的毕业标准是什么？ASU大学学分课有哪些科目可供选择，具体如何选课，有着怎样的学习和评估方式，有哪些资源可以利用？如何制定未来升学规划，现在开始要做好哪些准备？为解答上述疑问，我们定制了为期一周的封闭式开学营，希望学子可以借此机会成功解锁新学年，有个良好的开端！

In mid-August, Fuzhou Lakeside International School (FLIS) kicked off the 2023-2024 school year with its High School and Academy at the Jiao-Hu Skylark Field Studies Center in Jiangle. In addition to the original GED certificate program, GAC program and high school credit courses, FLIS cooperated with Arizona State University (ASU), a famous public university in the United States, and introduced the ASU college credit courses, which will lay a solid foundation for future undergraduate studies, and also provide a better preparation for higher education in the new school year. What are the graduation standards for High School and Academy, what subjects are available in the ASU College Credit Program, how do students select courses, what are the learning and assessment methods, and what resources are available? How do students plan for their future education and what do they need to do now? In order to answer these questions, we have customized a one-week orientation camp, hoping that students can take this opportunity to successfully unlock the new academic year and have a good start!

*FLIS cooperated with Arizona State University (ASU) to establish the ASU College Direct Program, which allows eligible students to start their college credit courses in high school and go straight to the top U.S. schools, saving time and money for future undergraduate studies.

短短一周不仅是学术入门，也是纪律的确立与方向的锚定。所有参与开学营的学子均顺利完成ASU大学学分课的入门课程，也了解了代数及社会学课程大纲。值得一提的是，Marko老师在校规管理工作坊上就学术诚信为大家上了一课，给学习设定了明确、透明的规则，也令学子在未来求学之路上更加珍惜自己的学术声誉，坚守学习本心；Jon老师则为大家解释了家校联合的重要性；此外，我们还邀请Kerim同学与大家分享ASU大学学分课程的种种学习经验……在迷雾中前行自然令人倍感不安，此刻若有人领着我们一步步探明前路，或许，未来也就不再令人恐惧——或许，白茫茫的晨雾所挡住的，正是山丘另一侧的万丈金光。

The short week was not only an academic introduction, but also an establishment of discipline and anchoring of direction. All of the students who participated in the opening camp successfully completed the foundations for universal learner course and also learned about the course syllabi of College Algebra and Introduction to Sociology. It is worth mentioning that Mr. Marko gave a workshop on academic honesty and school rules and regulations, which set clear and transparent rules for learning, and made the students cherish their academic reputation more; Mr. Jon explained the importance of the cooperation between home and school; and Kerim shared his experience of taking credit courses at ASU with the students. Walking in the fog is naturally disturbing, but if someone leads us step by step to find out the way ahead, perhaps the future will no longer be frightening - perhaps what has been blocked by the white morning fog is the golden light on the other side of the hill.

学术自然是高中阶段的重中之重，但强健的体魄与健康的心态对学子顺利度过这一关键人生节点而言也必不可少。此次开学营，高中生们在山清水秀的将乐天籁蛟湖国际研学基地体验了种种水陆运动：皮划艇、水上桨板、农耕课堂、溯溪、越野障碍赛……学子在参与的同时也锻炼了心志与毅力，更体会到了团队协作所迸发的力量。记忆固然会随着时间的流逝而淡化，但愿冲过终点那一刻，促使大家喊出" I tried my best!" 那轻盈而巨大的力量能够沉淀于心，在未来压力重重的时刻，助心灵取得一时半刻的活跃与强健。也请学子多多关注自己的精神健康，若需要找个人聊聊，FLIS心理指导及咨询部门的大门永远对大家敞开。

Academics are naturally the top priority in high school, but a strong body and a healthy mind are also essential for students to get through this critical point in their lives. During the camp, high school students experienced various water and land sports in the beautiful mountainous area of Jiao-hu Skylark Field Studies Center: kayaking, paddle boarding, farming classes, creek tracing, and a cross-country obstacle course. Students also practiced determination and perseverance while participating, and realized the power of teamwork. Memories will fade with the passage of time, but we hope that the light and great strength that prompted everyone to shout "I tried my best!" when they crossed the finish line will sink into their hearts and help their minds to be active and strong for the stressful times ahead. 沉浸于大自然中的一周稍纵即逝，回归校园之后，挑战才刚刚开始。越过将乐的碧水与山丘，正面相迎的是令人期待的未来。新一学年，希望大家都能看见前程的万丈金光，获得梦校青睐，FLIS愿继续与大家一路偕行！

After a week immersed in nature, the challenge of returning to school is just beginning. Beyond the river and hills of Jiangle, the future is full of excitement. In the new school year, we hope that everyone can see the golden light of their future and be favored by the schools of their dreams, and FLIS is willing to continue to work with you along the way!
