My name is Katy Gamble, and I have been an educator for 13 years. My passion for education has been the driving force throughout my life. From the moment I could, I pursued a degree in Foundation Phase Education with a special needs specialization, which has given me a deep understanding of the developmental journey of every child within the foundational years.

I have expanded my professional qualifications through TEFL certification and engagement with the IB PYP framework, which resonates profoundly with my teaching philosophy. I believe that education must honor the uniqueness of every child. I do not subscribe to a one-size-fits-all approach; rather, I am committed to differentiation and personalized learning that ensures every student feels supported, valued, and empowered within the educational system. The IB PYP framework aligns with my belief that learning should be inquiry-driven, transdisciplinary, and student-centered—where each learner is an active participant in constructing their own understanding.

My career has taken me across the globe. I have taught in South Africa, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and now China. Each country has offered me the privilege of immersing myself in diverse cultures and curricular approaches, and I have embraced every opportunity to learn from these experiences. I believe that true international-mindedness is cultivated through authentic engagement with difference, and I strive to model this for my students every day.

I am currently in my third year of teaching in China. My first two years were spent in Beijing, where I taught in the Haidian District and developed a deep appreciation for the energy and diversity of the city. However, I have since relocated to Fuzhou, drawn by the natural beauty and tranquility of this region, which has offered a new and refreshing chapter in my professional and personal journey.

Above all, my greatest joy remains the classroom, the moments of discovery, the questions that spark inquiry, and the relationships I build with my students. I believe that every child brings their own magic to the learning community, and it is my privilege to nurture that magic. I am deeply proud to be part of this school community, and I look forward with genuine excitement to the year ahead—to meeting my students, building our classroom community, and creating meaningful learning experiences together.

我的教学生涯遍布全球。我曾在南非、台湾、日本、韩国任教，如今来到中国。每一个国家都让我有幸沉浸于多元文化与不同课程体系之中，我也珍惜每一次从这些经历中学习的机会。我相信，真正的国际情怀是通过真诚地拥抱差异而培养的，我也努力每天为学生树立这样的榜样。

目前是我在中国任教的第三年。前两年我在北京海淀区任教，深深感受着这座城市的活力与多元。而如今，我已迁居福州——被这片土地的自然之美与宁静所吸引，这也为我的职业与人生旅程开启了全新而清新的篇章。

最重要的是，我最大的快乐始终来自教室：那些发现的瞬间、点燃探究的提问，以及我与学生之间建立的联结。我相信，每个孩子都为学习社区带来了属于自己的魔力，而培育这份魔力，是我的荣幸。我深感自豪能成为这个学校社区的一员，并满怀真诚的期待迎接新的一年——与我的学生相遇，共建我们的教室社区，共同创造有意义的学习体验。
