Music Teacher丨音乐教师

Hello everyone! My name is Raina. I’m very happy to be joining Fuzhou Westlake International School.

This is my 11th year working in music education. I have taught music in middle and high schools in China, and I also spent a year teaching in Wales, UK. After returning to China, I became particularly interested in the Orff approach to music education and in exploring the differences between music education systems in China and other countries.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Musicology from China and a Master’s degree in Music Education from the UK. My main areas of expertise are piano, vocal music, and yangqin. I also hold a Senior High School Music Teacher Qualification Certificate.

I believe in adapting my teaching to meet the individual needs of my students. I also enjoy helping students develop critical thinking and creativity, encouraging them to explore, think independently, and express their own ideas through music. Education has always been something I am deeply passionate about. Music is everywhere in our daily lives, and I hope to guide students to discover the beauty of music, embrace it, and enjoy its rhythm and movement.

For me, music education is not only about helping students understand the beauty of sound. It is also a way for them to take their first steps towards understanding the world. Through music, students can discover connections between music and other areas of learning and begin to see the world from different perspectives.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy swimming, camping, travelling, and spending time with animals. I’m always curious about new things and love exploring new experiences. Having lived and travelled in more than a dozen countries has made me excited to embrace new adventures and everything that comes along with them. Most of all, I’m looking forward to meeting my new students and getting to know them!

大家好，我是Raina。非常开心能够加入福州西湖国际学校，今年是我音乐教育的第11年，我曾在国内的高中和初中任职音乐教师，并在英国威尔士教学一年，回国后致力于研究奥尔夫音乐教学法以及国内外音乐教育体系的不同。我拥有国内音乐学学士学位以及英国音乐教育硕士学位，擅长钢琴、声乐和扬琴，同时持有音乐高级中学音乐教师资格证。

我擅长因材施教，培养学生的思辨思维和创新能力。对于教育事业保持极大的热情，音乐渗透在生活之中，希望能够引领学生们发现音乐的美，拥抱音乐，享受音乐的律动。对于我来说，音乐教育不仅是让学生懂得声音的美学，也是接触世界的第一步，透过音乐我们可以发现音乐和其他学科的联系。

我的兴趣爱好是游泳，露营和旅行，热爱动物，以及不断探索新事物，十几个国家的生活和经历让我期待一切新事物的发生，期待认识新学生！
