又一年毕业典礼于上周五在福州西湖国际学校落下帷幕。本届学子的教育之旅并非一帆风顺：疫情的暴发、网课的隔绝、AI时代全面来临的冲击……但他们以勇气及韧性面对了许多挑战，并在这一过程中不断适应、进化，出色完成了自己的学业。我们从这天的毕业典礼中提取了几个关键词，一起随图文重温这一天的感动吧！

Another graduation ceremony came to a close last Friday at Fuzhou Lakeside International School. This year’s graduating class did not have a smooth educational journey: the outbreak of the pandemic, the isolation of online classes, and the full-scale arrival of the AI era… Yet,  they faced many challenges with courage and resilience, continually adapting and evolving along the way, and completed their studies. We’ve highlighted a few key moments from the graduation ceremony. Let’s revisit the moving moments of that day through these photos and stories!

蜕变 - CHANGE

如果说，所有好故事都是关于时间的故事，或许我们也可以这样说：所有成长的故事，都是关于变化的故事。而毕业典礼正是让人回望一路走来、细数种种变化的绝佳时机：

If we say that all good stories are stories about time, perhaps we could also say that all coming-of-age stories are stories about change. A graduation ceremony is the perfect opportunity to look back on the journey we’ve taken and reflect on all the changes we’ve experienced:

一眨眼，入园首日啼哭不止的幼童已经能站上大舞台自信表演；一年级时背着巨大书包与鞋带搏斗的小孩，也是四五年级时测量校园土地，收集数据，讨论环保问题的小小生态学家；几年间，MYP学子通过各种活动展现领导力、逐渐成了低年级学子的榜样；高中生们学会在面对不确定性时保持平静、为自己的选择负责，规划自己的未来……

In the blink of an eye, the toddlers who cried uncontrollably on their first day of kindergarten are now able to stand on the big stage and perform with confidence; the children who struggled with their shoelaces while carrying giant backpacks in first grade have become young ecologists in fourth and fifth grade, measuring the school grounds, collecting data, and discussing eco-friendly ideas; over the years, MYP students have demonstrated leadership through various activities and have gradually become positive role-models for the younger students; High school students have learned to remain calm in the face of uncertainty, take responsibility for their own choices, and plan for their future…

建议 - ADVICE

毕业典礼无疑也是启程时刻。于是，不约而同的，上台发言的师生都留下了不少暖心叮嘱，关于自省、关于同理心、关于好奇心、关于如何面对失误与挫折……最终我们发现，这些建议或多或少，都可以在IB学习者特质中找到落脚点。也许正如学部校长Ms Coyne先生所说：

A graduation ceremony is undoubtedly also a time of new beginnings. So, almost as if by mutual agreement, the teachers and students who took the stage to speak all offered many heartwarming words of advice—on self-reflection, empathy, curiosity, and how to deal with mistakes and setbacks… In the end, we realized that, to a greater or lesser extent, all of this advice can be traced back to the IB learner profiles. Perhaps, as Mr. Coyne, the Academic Principal, said:

“在继续前行的过程中，请记住过去几年所培养的ATL技能和IB学习者特质。这些技能和特质将在你们面对新的环境和挑战时提供巨大的帮助。你们已经具备成功所需的一切，只需在困难时刻记住这一点。”

“As you move forward, remember all the ATL skills and IB Learner Profile traits that you’ve been developing over the past years. These skills and traits will aid you greatly as you step up to new challenges in new environments. You’ve got everything you need for success, just remember that when things get difficult.”

感恩 - GRATITUDE

在这个动情的时刻，毕业生们亦不忘对父母、师长、亲友致以深深的感谢。

At this emotional moment, the graduates did not forget to express their deep gratitude to their parents, teachers, friends, and family.

他们是学子求学道路上坚实的后盾，在需要时给予帮助、在压力巨大之际，传递包容与理解，信任与尊重。

They serve as a solid support system for students on their academic journey, offering help when needed and providing tolerance, understanding, trust, and respect during times of great pressure.

祝福 - WISHES

像所有盛大的典礼一样，在这一天，我们为关心在乎的人送上最真挚的祝福。

As with all grand celebrations, on this day, we extend our most sincere wishes to those we care about.

“去吧……去经历，去犯错，去修正，去成为你们自己最想成为的模样，做自己尊重的人。”

“Go experience, go make mistakes, go correct your course, go become the person you most wish to be—someone you can respect.”

“愿你们在人生的新篇章中遇见无数精彩与奇迹，收获丰富而有意义的经历。”

“May you all find wonders galore and have many very interesting experiences as you start your next chapter of your life story.”

同时，请不要忘记，就像高中部主管Ms Virginia所说的那样，FLIS是一个你可以随时回来的地方。“某个下午，推开那扇门，在操场走一圈，或者坐在草坪上发会儿呆。我们不问为什么，只问一句：‘最近好吗？’”来日方长，后会有期！

At the same time, please don’t forget that, as Ms. Virginia, the Head of High School&Academy, said, FLIS is a place you can always come back to. “One afternoon, just push the door open, walk a lap around the track, or sit on the lawn and stare into space. We won't ask why. We'll just ask, ‘How have you been lately?’” There’s plenty of time ahead—we’ll see you again someday!
