Spirit Week（校园精神周/奇装异服周）作为美式校园文化中极为重要的一部分，向来是展现凝聚力、发挥天马行空创意的好时机。近年来，福州西湖国际学校往往在九月初鼓励学子参与Spirit Week, 这一活动也逐渐成了FLIS的开学传统之一，一周时间里，每天学子的着装都会根据当日主题而改变，常见的“搞怪发型日”“运动装日”“睡衣日”都是大受欢迎的主题。

Spirit Week, a vital part of American campus culture, has always been an excellent opportunity to showcase unity and unleash boundless creativity. In recent years, Fuzhou Lakeside International School has encouraged students to participate in Spirit Week around early September. This event has gradually become one of FLIS's back-to-school traditions. Throughout the week, students' outfit changes daily according to the theme of the day. Popular themes like “Crazy Hair Day,” “Sportswear Day,” and “Pajama Day” are always well-received.

庆祝Spirit Week意义何在？首要原因当然是有趣！从漫长松散的暑假过渡到井井有条的校园生活，日常作息的改变、对新环境的期待与不安、课业与升学带来的压力接踵而至……主题周的出现恰恰打破了刻板印象里“上学”所象征的严肃气氛，让学子每天迈入校园的步伐也轻快许多，充满期待与趣味：今天的主题是什么？我要穿什么样的衣服闪耀西湖？同学老师又会带来哪些惊喜？

What's the point of celebrating Spirit Week? The primary reason, of course, is for fun! Transitioning from the long, relaxed summer vacation to the structured school routine brings changes in daily schedules, anticipation and anxiety about new environments, and the mounting pressure of academics and college applications... Spirit Week breaks the monotony of classes and exams, making students' daily steps to campus lighter, filled with anticipation and fun: What's today's theme? What outfit will make me shine at FLIS? What surprises will classmates and teachers bring?

一日一主题更令师生集结在共同的身份认同中，你、我、他如此相似又如此不同，新生可以借此迅速建立集体认同感，教职员工参与活动则拉近了师生距离，统一主题下每个人的小心思与小花样又让校园变得更加多元、丰富……

A daily theme brings students and staff together around a shared identity. You and me and everyone else—so similar yet so different. New students can quickly feel included and part of the school culture, while faculty participation bridges the gap between teachers and students. Moreover, under the same theme, everyone's creative outfits make campus life more diverse and vibrant…

幼儿园将Spirit Week与Anthony Browne绘本周相结合，提出了这一周的全新玩法：除周一照例是“搞怪发型日”外，每天小朋友都会与外教共读一部Anthony Browne的经典绘本，次日着装主题便源自绘本中的经典元素。

The ECE combined Spirit Week with “Anthony Browne Week”: kids would read a classic Anthony Browne picture book with their teachers each day. The next day's dress-up theme would then be inspired by iconic elements from the book.

Anthony Browne为著名英国童书作家，其作品曾斩获全球童书三大奖项中的国际安徒生奖与卡内基插画奖，幽默而富有想象力，广受全球大小读者欢迎。本周，幼儿园孩子们共读的四部绘本中就包括他最脍炙人口的作品My Mom与Gorilla, 这些作品带孩子们看见无所不能的妈妈、讲述渴望父亲关怀的小女孩的梦境、鼓励大家像喜爱幻想的小猴子一样，去成为任何你想成为的人物……藏在画面中的丰富细节也值得小朋友们一读再读！

Anthony Browne is a British writer and illustrator of children's books, primarily picture books. Browne has written or illustrated more than fifty books and received the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2000. He won two Kate Greenaway Medals from the Library Association, recognising the year's best children's book illustration. His humorous and imaginative stories are beloved by readers of all ages worldwide. This week, the four picture books shared with ECE children include his most beloved works, My Mom and Gorilla. These stories introduce children to the idea of a mother who can do anything, depict the dreams of a little girl longing for her father's affection, and encourage everyone to become anyone they wish to be—just like the imaginative little monkey in the story. The rich details hidden within the illustrations also make these books worth revisiting time and again!

将Spirit Week与绘本周相结合，不仅能加深小朋友对绘本的印象，更能激发孩子的想象。通过这一开学活动，FLIS希望大家不仅能玩得开心，也更添上学动力，共同开启全新的一学年！

Combining Spirit Week with Picture Book Week not only deepens children's engagement with picture books but also sparks their imagination.
