福州西湖国际学校于本周一举行了2025-2026开学日活动！今年，我们再度请出于FLIS建校十周年之际首次登场的吉祥物Felix, 并以"Upwards with Felix!(与Felix，共向上！)"为主题，设计了整场活动。

Fuzhou Lakeside International School(FLIS) held its 2025-2026 Opening Ceremony this Monday! This year, we once again welcomed Felix, the mascot who first appeared during the school's 10th anniversary celebrations. The entire event was designed around the theme “Upwards with Felix!”

栗子型圆鼓鼓脸庞、拖着红棕条纹相间的尾巴，永远带着开朗的笑容——这便是FLIS吉祥物，小熊猫Felix. 像所有同类一样，Felix擅长独立生活，好奇心极强，向往高处、喜爱攀登，这与积极进取的FLIS精神不谋而合。活动当天，Felix随机在各个时段空降校园迎接师生返校，它的各款周边产品也受到学子们的热烈欢迎。新学年，愿FLIS学子都能在Felix的陪伴下，开启探索个人成长路径的新旅程、满怀信心地迎接新学期的机遇与挑战！

With chestnut-shaped round cheeks, a tail streaked with reddish-brown stripes, and an ever-present cheerful smile—this is Felix, the red panda mascot of FLIS. Like all their kind, Felix thrives on independence, possesses boundless curiosity, aspires to reach new heights and loves to climb. This perfectly aligns with the proactive spirit of FLIS. On the event day, Felix made surprise appearances across campus at various times to welcome back students and faculty. Felix’s themed merchandise was enthusiastically received by the students. As the new school year begins, may all FLIS students embark on a new journey of personal growth alongside Felix, confidently embracing the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead!

新老同学相见、认识新学年的班主任/学科老师，从学部说明会上知悉学年新变化，参观课程主题展了解学年课程计划与各种IB元素，逛社团集市提前了解新学期社团招新情况……虽当天活动受大雨所扰，但师生热情不减，新变化也悄悄在校园各个角落展开：更符合IB课程精神的校园元素、多元开放的教师配置、更适合培养学子探究精神的课程安排……

New and returning students reunited, met their homeroom and subject teachers for the new school year, learned about upcoming changes at the departmental orientation, explored the program fair to check the whole program curriculum and IB elements, and visited the club bazaar to preview new semester club recruitment… Despite heavy rain disrupting the day's activities, the enthusiasm of teachers and students remained undiminished. New developments quietly unfolded across campus corners: elements more aligned with the IB spirit, a diverse and open faculty composition, and curriculum better suited to nurturing students' spirit of inquiry...

大家好，欢迎步入2025-2026学年！很高兴看到我们的吉祥物Felix再度登场，它已经准备好了，要和大家共度精彩的一年。在开学日活动中，Felix也热情地欢迎了学子与家长们。对新学年即将带来的新惊喜与新经验，我十分期待与FLIS大家庭的各位一起感受。

Welcome everyone to the 2025-26 school year! I’m so excited to see that our mascot Felix is back in action and ready to help us have an amazing year. Felix did a great job welcoming students and parents back to school during the First Day Opening Ceremony. I’m really excited to see what else the new year brings and what new experiences I’ll get to share with everyone in the FLIS Family.

本学年，我们为自己、为FLIS大家庭整体都制定了一些目标。其中最重大的目标之一，或许就是完成我校IB PYP的认证流程。FLIS将邀请PYP顾问于12月份莅临我校，并预计在来年5月或6月迎来IB官方审核访问。我们还致力于优化学部衔接流程，让学子可以顺畅地从一个学部项目进入另一个学部项目，并做好充足准备。一如既往，我们的首要目标始终是营造最佳成长环境——既充满关怀又不乏挑战，助力学子安心学习、茁壮成长。

We’ve set some goals for ourselves and the FLIS Family for this year. One of our biggest goals is possibly completing our IB PYP Authorization process. We’re inviting our PYP Advisor to visit in December and we’re targeting May or June for having our Verification Visit from the IB. We also have a goal for streamlining our transitions from program to program to make moving from one program to the next to be a smooth and well-prepared action. As always, our most important goal is to provide the best nurturing and healthfully challenging environment for students to learn and grow in.
