FLIS TALK丨受困于定式思维的你 如何培养「成长型思维」?

今年是FLIS TALK项目开展的第五个年头。课堂之内晓古今,课堂之外知天地,本学年,FLIS TALK系列讲座一如既往为大家带来了新视野、新观点。而2022-2023学年最后一期FLIS TALK主题,呼应最后一个IB学习者培养目标,为“及时反思(Reflection)”。我们邀请了华为福建省总经理彭希先生介绍“成长型思维”对企业及个人的重要性。

The FLIS TALK program has been running for five years now. Whilst learning about the past and the present inside the classroom, we also need to learn about the world outside the classroom. This academic year, FLIS TALK has brought us new perspectives and new ideas as always. Our final FLIS TALK of the year, and our final IB learner trait, was all about reflection. We invited Mr. Peng Xi, General Manager of Huawei Fujian subsidiary to introduce the importance of this ‘growth mindset’ for businesses and individuals alike.

演讲中,彭先生提到了思维模式对人生的影响。思考决定命运,而成长型思维则能使人看见不一样的世界,更积极主动地去思考、行事。在人际关系、职场、教育、体育比赛、艺术、科技、文学等等领域,成长型思维的正面影响随处可见。

During the speech, Mr. Peng mentioned the influence of thinking patterns on life. Thinking decides destiny, and growth mindset enables people to see the world differently and to think and act more proactively. The positive impact of growth mindset can be seen everywhere in interpersonal relationships, workplace, education, sports competitions, art, technology and literature.

与认为人的才能是固定且无法改变、害怕挑战的定式思维相比,成长型思维相信人类的才能可以通过学习及实践不断发展。这种思维模式能让人以更加积极的心态面对挑战,它并非对个体的盲目自信,策略也极为关键。彭先生同样提及培养成长型思维的若干诀窍:诸如在反复尝试、反复受挫的退缩关头,比起直接彻底否定自我,不如为这种否定加上一个时限——与其说“我做不到”,不如换个说法,承认“目前,我无法解决这个问题”,但假以时日,待修整完毕、有了更多长进,或许我就能完成这一挑战了。

In contrast to the fixed mindset, which is believing that human talents are fixed and immutable, the growth mindset believes that human talent can be continuously developed through learning and practice. This allows people to face challenges with a more positive mindset, it is not a blind confidence in the individual, and strategic efforts are crucial. Mr. Peng also mentions some tips for developing a growth mindset: for example, at the point of retreat when one tries repeatedly and is repeatedly frustrated, it is better to put a time limit on that denial than to deny oneself outright - instead of saying, "I can't do it," you can say something else: "I just can't solve this problem now," but in time, when I take a break / learn a little more, maybe I'll be able to complete the challenge.

此外,及时反思,三省其身,厘清自己恐惧、失败的原因也极为重要,如此一来我们才可以走出舒适区,同时与自己的种种念头和解。在之后的演讲中,彭先生也进一步阐述了我们需要及时反思的诸多原因与其带来的益处,以及这一策略在华为商业领域的运用。

In addition, it is also important to reflect and be introspective to identify the reasons for our fears and failures so that we can step out of our comfort zone and reconcile with our thoughts at the same time. In his subsequent speech, Mr. Peng also further elaborated on the many reasons why we need to reflect in time and the benefits it brings, as well as the application of this strategy in Huawei's business area.
