Welcome to our class. My name is Eric Ke, and I'll be your homeroom and Math teacher for the upcoming school year! I am looking forward to getting to know you all and guiding your through a successful school year. First, allow me to share a little about myself. I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a major in Science. Teaching is my life's passion, and I have been instructing middle and high school students for 8 years. This is my fifth year working at FLIS. In my free time, I enjoy listening to music, tasting different cuisines, watching basketball games, and spending quality time with family and friends. I am a Lakers fan but please do not hold that against me! 
欢迎来到我们的班级。我的名字是Eric Ke，将是你们下一学年的班主任和数学老师。我期待着认识你们并指导你们度过一个成功的学年。首先，请允许我介绍一下我的情况。我毕业于不列颠哥伦比亚大学，主修科学。教学是我一生的爱好，我已经指导了8年的初中和高中学生。今年是我在FLIS工作的第五年。在空闲时间，我喜欢听音乐，品尝不同的美食，看篮球比赛，并与家人和朋友共度美好时光。我是湖人队的球迷，请不要因此而对我有意见！

We will continue our wonderful MYP programme in this new academic year. Following the IB philosophy, you will perform investigations where you will discover and formulate mathematical rules, algorithms and procedures. In fact, you will generate the mathematical concepts yourself, before practicing and applying them. You are part of a new generation of math student, who not only understands how to do math, but what it means to be a mathematician. Most importantly, we will learn to respect each other, try our best, and HAVE FUN!
在新的学年，我们将继续我们精彩的MYP课程。按照国际文凭组织的理念，你们将进行调查，发现并制定数学规则、算法和程序。事实上，在练习和应用数学概念之前，你们将自己产生数学概念。你是新生代数学学子，不仅了解如何做数学，也了解成为一名数学家的意义。最重要的是，我们将学会相互尊重，尽力而为，并享受乐趣！
