长假最后几天，家家户户一定都听到了孩子们的哀嚎：假期怎么过得这么快？！别沮丧，节后返校的FLIS学子一定都发现啦：2018-2019学年的社团活动正式开启了！福州西湖国际学校一直致力于为学生们提供智趣十足、能够在体能及生活技能方面锻炼孩子、并让大家享受学习乐趣的课后社团项目。每个社团都在经验丰富的执教人士及校外专业指导者的监督下开展。今年又有哪些有趣的社团呢？
During the final days of the National Day holiday, many families must have heard their children whining, “Do we have to go back to school already?” Don't be upset. Returning students had a welcome surprise; the 2018/19 school year’s clubs have formally started! Fuzhou Lakeside International School provides a safe and engaging environment in partnership with the school, community, and families to design programs that meet students’ specific needs. We seek the most effective academic enrichment, physical fitness and life skill programs to challenge children and make learning fun. Experienced school personnel or professional instructors from outside the school lead and supervise each program. What do we offer this year? Let’s check it out!
小学部的社团涉及艺术、音乐、美术、舞蹈、书法等方方面面，学生们可以根据自己的需求自行选择。在琴棋书画陶冶情操之外，Stuart老师与Summer老师领衔的趣味纸牌社团也很受欢迎，小朋友们还可以通过这种风靡全球的UNO纸牌游戏进行思维较量；吉他社团的第一堂课，Alex老师帮助每个学员调弦之后，便介绍起了吉他弦，看得出大家都跃跃欲试；而今年的重头戏高尔夫球社团也正式开始了！学员们随外教认识了高尔夫球杆的种类，还试着挥了挥杆——之后的课程还真让人十分期待呢~
The primary school club offers programs such as Art, Music, Dance and calligraphy, and students can choose according to their own needs. In addition to those clubs, the Board game club led by Mr. Stuart and Ms. Summer is also very popular. Children can play a variety of popular board games including the UNO card game. In the first class of the Guitar club, Mr. Alex helped every student to tune their guitars. You could tell from their happy faces that students were eager to give it a try. Finally, this year's golf club has officially started! The students learned from Mr. Matthew about different types of golf clubs, and they even tried to swing a golf club!
中学部的社团也十分有趣，Nikki老师的编织社团、Maria老师的举重社团，还有Toni老师的瑜伽社团都让人眼前一亮。通过这些社团活动，我们希望能够强化学生的英语水平，培养各方面的技能，促进他们的个性发展。人生路漫漫，之后的旅程中必定会有高潮与低谷，有时，恰恰是年少时形成的兴趣爱好拓展了我们的心胸与眼界，在失落时为心灵注入一道微光。学生们若能从FLIS社团活动中发现可以贯之一生的兴趣爱好，也是乐事一桩！
There are also many interesting clubs available in Secondary School, such as Ms. Nikki's crochet club, Ms. Maria's weight-lifting club and Ms. Toni's Yoga club. These clubs offer students the opportunity to immerse themselves in an English environment, while also developing skills and positive character traits. Perhaps students can discover a lifelong interest! On our long life journey there will be many ups and downs. Our hobbies and personal interests can provide us the passion and sense of purpose we need to continue along life’s path.
接下来的两周FLIS也准备举行不同的大型活动，近期内市足球联赛也将开赛。如今大家有了开学的实感了吗？秋风飒飒，夏季的毒日头也变得亲切暖和起来，正是学习的好时候:)
For the next two weeks, FLIS prepares to host two big events, and the Fuzhou Junior Football League Championship will start soon. The school year is now in full swing. The autumn wind has begun to blow and the scorching summer sun has finally receded. It is a beautiful season to enjoy life, and also a good time to study :)
