说到图书馆，或许不少人心头都会涌上阿根廷作家博尔赫斯的诗句，这大概也是关于图书馆最著名、最令人产生共鸣的形容之一。在福州西湖国际学校，学子们又对图书馆有何定义？我们从接受采访的各学段学子口中听到了五花八门的答案：大家都认可这里是个读书的好地方，也有孩子觉得在图书馆上自习心情放松、颇有效率，有些小朋友认为图书馆让自己变得更有想象力，还有同学将图书馆比作一台时光机——在此处阅读一部历史作品，你可以回到过去，读科幻作品，便去到了将来。如此时空徜徉，其乐无穷。

When it comes to libraries, perhaps many people will think of the verses by the Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges, which is probably one of the most famous and resonant descriptions of libraries. What do the students at Fuzhou Lakeside International School define as a library? We heard a variety of answers from the students interviewed from all sections of the school: everyone agrees that it is a good place to read, some students find studying in the library relaxing and efficient, one kid thinks the library makes them more imaginative, and one student compares the library to a time machine - where when you read a historical book, you can go back in time, and when you read a science fiction book, you can go to the future. It's fun to wander through time and space like this.

话虽如此，你真的了解FLIS图书馆吗？这座麻雀虽小五脏俱全的场馆有哪些藏书、可以为学子提供什么样的资源、举办了哪些活动、又有哪些准入使用礼仪？我们请FLIS图书馆馆员Kay老师及Lucy老师录制了一期视频，一起跟随她们的脚步了解校图书馆吧！

Having said that, do you really know the FLIS Library? What kinds of books are available, what kinds of resources are available to students, what kinds of activities are held, and what is the etiquette of access to this small but complete library? We asked the FLIS librarians, Ms. Kay and Ms. Lucy to record a video. Let’s follow their footsteps and learn more about the school library!

不知同学们是否注意到了视频中Kay老师介绍时身边的邮筒？每个月都有无数张承载了读者满满心意的书籍分享卡被投递至此。「阅读之星」是校图书馆的常规月度活动，师生阅读书籍后，填写分享卡进行投递，内容可以是读后感、书评、喜欢的角色介绍、喜爱的文摘分享等等……校图书馆会评选优秀的分享卡在校园内展示，并通过西湖之声广播站播出精选内容。上一轮评选中，三名师生获得了「阅读之星」称号，她们推荐的书籍涵盖青少年科幻小说、绘本、儿童科普作品等类别。我们期待收到更多高质量的阅读分享！

Did you notice the mailbox next to Ms. Kay's introduction in the video? Every month, countless book sharing cards are delivered to the mailbox. The "Reading Star" is a regular monthly activity of the school library. After reading a book, students and teachers fill out a sharing card and drop it off. The content can be after reading, book reviews, introduction of favorite characters, sharing of favorite digests, etc. The school library will select the best sharing cards for display on campus and broadcast the selected content through the Voice of FLIS radio station. In the last round of selection, three students and teachers were awarded the title of "Reading Stars" and their recommended books covered genres such as young adult science fiction, picture books, and children's popular science books. We look forward to receiving more quality reading shares!

此外，正如视频中提及的，本学期校园大堂一角的「信任图书馆」正式上线。校图书馆订阅了文学、科普、艺术等多种类型、适合各年龄段师生的杂志，轮流摆放于图书馆与大堂阅读角供全校师生阅览。欢迎大家空闲时前来翻阅，探索知识的新天地。

In addition, as mentioned in the video, the "Trust Library" in the corner of the lobby officially opened this semester. The school library subscribes to a variety of magazines for teachers and students of all ages, such as literature, science, and art, and they are placed in the library and the lobby reading corner on a rotating basis for all students and teachers to read. We welcome you to come and read them in your free time and explore the new world of knowledge.

即将到来的三月是FLIS传统阅读月，一年一度疯狂阅读竞赛也将拉开序幕。今年校图书馆将活动主题定为「分享你的故事」：阅读过程中，有什么故事让你念念不忘？故事如何影响你的生活，让你对世界有了不同的认知？三月一整月，我们将分学部进行阅读竞赛，还请大家参考不同学部具体活动规则，积极阅读、深入思考、踊跃参加，分享你喜欢的故事！

This coming March is the traditional FLIS reading month, and the annual Madness Readathon will be kicking off. This year, the school library has set the theme of the event as "Share a Story": What is a story from your reading that you can't stop thinking about? How has the story impacted your life and given you a different perception of the world? For the whole month of March, we will have reading contests in different school divisions. Please refer to the specific rules of activities in different school divisions, read actively, think deeply, participate enthusiastically, and share your favorite stories!

春天也是读书天。
