2020 ECE Graduation

2020年7月9日，福州西湖国际学校举行了隆重的幼儿园毕业典礼。今天，我们大班小朋友就要毕业啦！这是孩子们此生所经历的第一次毕业，自此，他们将告别幼儿园，成为一名小学生！

On July 9, 2020, FLIS held its grand kindergarten graduation ceremony. This is the first graduation the children will ever experience in their lives, and from then on they will be saying goodbye to kindergarten and becoming a primary school student!

记得那年九月，小朋友们初来乍到，有些迅速与大家打成一片，有些害羞地躲在一边，也有些无法适应环境、啼哭不止……如今想来，仿佛还是不久前的事情——但我们已经一起经历了那么多！对FLIS幼儿园的每一位老师而言，看着萌宝们一天天长大，好奇地探索这个世界，变得大胆、自信，能够以流利的英文与外教对谈……这多么令人欣慰；最后一学期遭新冠肺炎疫情打乱，孩子们经过漫长等待终于再度回归校园，这次重聚更显珍贵！

Remember that in September, when the children first arrived, some quickly mingled with everyone, some shyly hid away, and some were unable to adjust to the environment and cried from time to time… now it seems like it wasn't that long ago -- but we've been through so much together! For every teacher in the ECE Department at FLIS, it was so gratifying to watch these cute babies grow up and explore the world with curiosity, becoming bold and confident, able to speak fluent English to foreign teachers. The last semester was disrupted by the COVID-19 epidemic, so it was so precious to see our ECE kids after a long wait, when we were finally back together on campus.

典礼当日，伴着两位老师的钢琴演奏音，幼儿园毕业生们缓缓入场。副校长Jeanne女士与幼儿园主管Chloe女士分别上台致辞，为孩子们送上美好祝福。为向这一阶段告别，也为了迎接即将到来的新生活，全体毕业生们为大家带来一曲《我准备好了》（I'm ready to go）。动人的一曲落幕，台下观礼家长也不禁感慨万千。之后，全体教师上台，孩子们一一接过颁发的毕业证书。

On the day of the ceremony, ECE graduates slowly entered the stage, accompanied by the piano playing of two teachers. Ms. Jeanne, the Vice Principal, and Ms. Chloe, the ECE Principal, gave speeches to the children and sent them their best wishes. To say goodbye to this phase of their life and to welcome the new life ahead, all the graduates performed a song called “I’m ready to go". The touching song ended, and the parents could not help but feel the emotion. Afterwards, all the teachers went on stage and the children received their graduation certificates one by one.

在这一刻，我们也想让毕业生明白多年来家长的付出。是他们的无私陪伴、无条件支持，让孩子有了面对纷繁世界的勇气，也有了拥抱梦想的自信。家长代表胡先生在掌声中上台致辞，回顾了孩子们在FLIS的学习、生活与变化，他感谢了校方与教师们对小朋友的呵护，也展望了孩子们的未来。胡先生特别提及这特殊的一年，他相信人类终将战胜病毒，“等你们长大了，相信你们也都能自由、安全地去全世界任何地方，读书、旅行！”
At this moment, we also want to let the graduates understand the contribution of their parents over the years. It is their accompaniment and support that has given their children the courage to face the complicated world and the confidence to embrace their dreams. On behalf of the parents, Mr. Hu gave a speech amidst applause, reviewing the children's learning, life, and changes at FLIS. He expressed his gratitude for the school’s tender caresses to the graduates, and looked forward to the future. Mr. Hu also remarked about this special year, believing that mankind will eventually overcome the virus: "When you grow up, I believe you will be free and safe to go anywhere in the world, to study and travel!"

再次衷心感谢所有家长对孩子、对FLIS的支持！未来的路还很长，FLIS会带着你们的信任继续加油，也愿小朋友们带着FLIS的爱勇往直前。祝贺你们！
